Better Society Through Art and Agriculture
American Medicinals is a California-based collective and farm that grows medicinal plants and herbs. Our holistic approach combines the healing power of medicine with positive, creative living. Education is the philosophical nexus of our biodynamic farming methods, so we encourage our collective members to work directly with our farmers. We believe it's important to understand each phase of a plant, from seed to flower. As young entrepreneurs, we are just pioneering our American dream. We are growing into a family farm with vineyards, medical cannabis, lavender and sunflower fields, fruit and olive orchards, and an apothecary of wild-crafted, medicinal herbs. We encourage students, farmers, scientists and artists to apply to become new collective members of our farm and community.
American Medicinals wants to herald the benefits of art and agriculture beyond it's collective members and into the larger community. We promote and support urban farms within the bay area and grant use of our land to yoga retreats, community programs and traveling students. Natsuko Uchino, a collective member, says that one can farm her way to happiness. We happen to whole-heartedly agree.
